The Kalamazoo Valley Community College Wind Energy Center provides comprehensive wind training programs in support of increasing wind energy sources to allow the state of Michigan and the United States to achieve the goal of 20 percent wind energy by 2030.
The Center, complete with a 50 kilowatt active turbine, and 50 and 300 kilowatt decommissioned turbines, provides installation operation and maintenance technician training for small, commercial, and utility grade turbines.
The KVCC Wind Energy Center has partnered with Western Michigan University College of Engineering in an Alternative and Renewable Energy partnership. This partnership leverages the technical education and business development excellence of KVCC with the alternative and renewable research excellence of WMU, in support of state and national energy initiatives, jobs, and manufacturing opportunities.
